  1. I visited the cottage between Christmas and New Year 2016 and this cosy cottage came with everything we needed. You can see the magnificent wolves from the lounge window and listening to them howl is amazing whilst you’re eating your breakfast! Tonys tour was really interesting as it was not just about the wolves but all the other wildlife at Wolf Watch UK. The experience of walking with the wolves and feeding them was amazing and we will definitely be coming back soon! Thankyou for everything Tony.

  2. I visited the cottage last week, with my husband and grandson for two nights . We found it had everything we needed and it was warm and cozy.
Being able to see the wolves from the window was great and hearing them howling made my grandson day. We enjoyed bird spotting whilst eating breakfast, there is a good variety of birds bobbing around in the trees.
Tony made us very welcome and his tour was very informative, he has a great knowledge not only of wolves but also wildlife in general. Seeing the new pups was great and walking with and feeding the adult wolves made the visit an amazing experience.
We also enjoyed a half days walk from the doorstep, taking in a part on the Offas Dyke which is close by.
Thanks to you all at Wolf Watch UK for making our visit so special. we will be back soon.

  3. We stayed a couple of weeks ago for the weekend, it was absolutely stunning and with the snow it made the whole area look even more beautiful. The cottage was extremely lovely and had everything we could of hoped for. Of course we came to see the wolves and we were not left disappointed, firstly hearing them whilst we got settled the first night was extraordinary and then getting a guided walk with Tony to see them the next day capped it off.
We are going to come back again later in the year. I would highly recommend this amazing place.

  4. We stayed at the cottage in Jan as a Birthday surprise for my husband and we weren’t disappointed. First night, full moon, snow and howling wolves made a magical experience. Tony took us out a few times to walk with the wolves and feed them which was amazing. Tony is so accomodating, a font of knowledge with a sincere passion for these magnificent wolves. The cottage was cosy and super warm. Also enjoyed watching the deer and birds. A fabulous experience at wolf watch uk. Highly recommend and we will definitely return.

  5. This was a return visit and once again we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days with wolf watch uk staying in the cottage. Superb accommodation so close to the wolves, we heard them howl during the evening. Wonderful location and scenery. Amazing experience and a privilege to walk with and meet the wolves. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.

  6. We stayed in the cottage in February for a belated christmas present for my boyfriend. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The cottage had a very cosy feel about it, was very clean and very warm to. As for the surroundings they were stunning. We stayed over the night before we met the wolves, however were able to walk up to a beautiful lookout point the evening we arrived. Here we could see several of the wolves from a distance as well as admire the herd of red deer in the valley as the sun set. The next day we met the wolves. Tony, who had introduced himself the day before and already proved he was very willing to answer all questions we had, was amazing and told us everything about the individual wolves as well as the start up off Wolf Watch UK. It was incredible to be so close to such amazing animals and is an experience both myself and my boyfriend shall not forget soon! Special thank you to Tony and his wife for making us feel so welcome. An experience I would highly recommend and we can’t wait to come back and visit.

  7. I have just returned from a truly wonderful stay in the cottage along with the amazing experience of meeting Tony and his wolves. The cottage is in an idyllic setting with amazing views along with many species of wildlife/birds which could be seen and heard from this incredibly beautiful haven. The highlight of my stay was to meet all the wolves including beautiful Anja (who I’ve adopted along with Madadh) and to touch/hand feed the gorgeous, Kgosi & Madadh which was a truly magical experience and one never to be forgotten. Callow is lovely although very wary of the group, she did come to say hello, but at a distant and allowed Tony to get close enough to hand feed her. We only caught a fleeting glimpse of the 2 new arrivals but what a wonderful new home they have now found with Tony & their ‘new family.’ Thank-you Tony for making me so welcome and for the wonderful experience of sharing your knowledge, love & most of all, the company of your wolves.

The experience is one I feel very honoured to have had the pleasure of. To get close to Callow & see the trust she has in Tony to allow him to hand feed her was lovely.

  8. Hi There

Firstly I before I start I feel its important to state that I am certainly not one to muse on about something that I found inspiring in life….

However!!! This time please do allow me to indulge myself, because having the had the amazing opportunity to spend a very moody winter morning walking with Anthony and meeting his amazing wolf pack is a truly, truly inspiring experience. Having also the opportunity for our children to be there only made it all the more definitive. A night in the cottage provides the opportunity to be amongst the Wolves over night, to hear them howl and view them in the first light of morning is just wonderful. Our two young children found it such fun sharing the single bed and the cottage itself has all you should require at exceptional value.

If I could leave you wth my final thought, it is this, it difficult to define what you may get from meeting these wolves but believe you me, you will find something, and that thing may well stay with you for life.

Thank You So Much Anthony and Eva.

Kindest regards Wil, Nik Harry & Floss

  9. Well, were do I start…..we had the most amazing weekend, the cottage was amazing and has everything you need, its cosy warm and the views are stunning. The wolves howling at night was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. we met Eva who is a lovely lady and an incredible artist.
The tour around the grounds was amazing too, Helen was amazing, and made our tour that much more enjoyable, I loved hearing about the backgrounds of all the wolves and getting a little glimpse of the different personalities that these beautiful creatures have ( thanks Helen ).
Meeting kgosi and madadh was genuinely one of the best days of my life, I’ve always loved wolves and seeing these two so happy and up close will be an experience that will last a life time.
Thank you for doing what you do for these stunning creatures, you all clearly love them and them you.
thank you for such a magical time, and keep doing what you are doing.
    Gem and Scott
    BEST DAY EVER 😉

  10. We have just left this stunning place and are sad to leave. The cottage is so lovely. Tony is an amazing host, we were made to feel right at home. His dedication and loyalty to the wolves is amazing. The place itself is the best we’ve seen the wolves have so much space to roam it’s heart warming to see. As for the wolves waking up to the beautiful howling and getting a morning greeting from Anja just blew us away. 5 stars is not enough for this place. Seeing these beautiful and intelligent wolves being so well cared for restored out faith in humanity. Will definitely visit again and keep supporting anyway we can. Thank you to all those who helped make my birthday weekend such a wonderful experience.

  11. A truly magical experience for anyone who has an affinity with nature and wolves. My partner and I stayed here for two nights and I loved it so much I’ve already booked two more trips! As a full time artist I found this place to reignite my muse and wellbeing and I’ve been recommending this place to all of my friends and online supporters! The cottage has wifi, a fridge, basic kitchen utensils, two hobs, and a microwave, and there’s a little Co Op in Bishops Castle (about a 15 minuet drive away) to get supplies if you need them. Tony and his partner are lovely and welcoming and the tour around the place was absolutely wonderful. There are two very friendly dogs on the premises who I had great fun giving pets and cuddles to! I can’t wait to see everyone again soon

  12. Fantastic time in this beautiful place surrounded by Tony and his wolves.Highly recommended
We just want go back soon. Thank you for this wonderful time

  13. We were absolutely blown away with how beautiful this whole place is and of course, Tony’s dedication to his wolves. Madadh/Madi is just the most beautiful creature and meeting her was the most awesome thing we’ve ever done! It was also really lovely to see the wolves in such a natural environment. The whole experience of staying at the cottage was so relaxing and hearing the wolves howling was so unforgettable! We loved the quirkiness of the ‘upside-down’ cottage and were happy that the was both a microwave and a hob for cooking as the nearest place to eat involved travelling down some very narrow lanes. We can’t thank Tony enough for what he’s done with the wolves and for sharing so much of his knowledge with us! We will be back and very soon!! ☺

  14. Booked this cottage as a birthday surprise for Michael- who’s favourite animal is the wolf- and he was the happiest man alive. We had a grand time as it is a very small and personal centre, we were given a guided tour of the grounds and got extremely close with the animals with insider knowledge on wolves conservation worldwide. Tony absolutely loves his “pets” and really cares about the wolves conservation. A hugely satisfying visit which we highly recommend to the people who really care about animals and conservation. We were warmly welcomed by the team with a cuppa on first arrival. Fantastic work guys. Really inspiring!

  15. We stayed at the cottage in June 2017. The cottage is in a great location and is comfortable, warm and cosy. There is everything you could want and we had an amazing 2 days and can’t wait to return. Tony was a very knowledgeable and interesting host and he and Eva were so friendly and hospitable. Amazing people. We were fortunate enough to hear the wolves howling in the morning as we awoke and even caught a glimpse of Madadh through the fence of the garden at the cottage. Last year I achieved my dream of seeing black and grizzly bears in the wild and I thought nothing could surpass this, but the experience at Wolfwatch did just that. To stay in this wonderful cottage was magical for us and we cannot recommend it enough. A truly amazing, wonderful, fantastic, brilliant experience.

  16. Apologies for the late review!! We stayed at the cottage July 11th for 2 nights & we’re completely blown away by the experience. Had a wonderful welcome from Eva & the dogs. Loved the “upside down”cottage it was perfect we felt very comfortable. Being woken up by wolves howling was incredible & quite moving. Exploring the area was breathtaking. Meeting the wolves & Tony was amazing & emotional. They are such beautiful creatures. Being able to get up close & personal with Madi was truly fantastic. Thank you so so much Tony for making our visit so unique. Your knowledge is remarkable. Seeing your relationship with Madi moved me to tears you have such a strong bond. We will definitely be returning. Can’t thank you enough for such a memorable experience. You’re doing a splendid job with the wolves. Thank you

  17. We stayed for 3 nights over the August bank holiday and had a fantastic time. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The location is so peaceful; just birds singing and (of course) the wolves howling! Tony was very accommodating and it was amazing to be able to go into the enclosures and meet the wolves.

    Highly recommended

  18. It was an amazing, unique experience with a lot of knowledge about both the wolves and wildlife from Tony and a couple of volunteers. The cottage is cosy and has anything you could need and if you need to put a wash on there is a laundrette not too far away. Beautifully quiet and tranquil. To see the wolves that close up was amazing and one of the most memorable things we’ve ever had the pleasure of doing and seeing. The wolves also are very fortunate to have their needs taken care of so well and with so much land to roam. To meet, touch and feed Madi was truly such an amazing experience, she’s a beauty as they all are. Feeling very lucky to have come across such an amazing place.

  19. I stayed in The Cottage the weekend of 8th September, with my husband and grandson, we had adopted a wolf for our grandsons birthday and also booked on the photography day.
It was warm and cosy, with everything we needed and such a beautiful setting, Tony was on hand if we needed anything and so informative about the wolves, the weekend was absolutely brilliant and surpassed all our expectations.
Thanks again for a truly memorable weekend.

  20. We drove 100 miles out of our way to visit this truly special sanctuary. Thank you so much Tony and Eva for make every hour so stimulating. Meeting a fellow artist enriched my experience.
The compact, up-side-down cottage was rustic and cosy with unusual objects strategically placed, making it homely. The large double bed was comfortable and the cottage was well equipped.
The open plan arrangement upstairs worked very well.
Tony, your tour round this remote, peaceful, pine valley was so informative and meeting the wolves was thrilling. The pups looked perfect, darting about in their forest setting which could have easily been North America. You drew my attention to other wildlife, made me feel so relaxed.
Standing within two feet of handsome Callow was an absolute privilege.
But the highlight was my interaction with grand old Maddie. I was permitted to feed her treats, bathe with her and fondle her. It was sheer joy to be part of this patient, tender, beloved 126-year-old (in human terms) wolf. All my senses were activated and I felt so elated, emotional and passionate.
Strangely, I feel bereft of her now, but will cherish these incredible memories which will remain in the forefront of my mind. Thank you, thank you!

  21. We spent the most magical moments of our honeymoon here, in the midst of the vast and hidden valley, surrounded by nature and, of course, the beautiful wolves. Their howls and sounds could be heard echoing through the hills and forest. One could say it was a once in a lifetime experience, except that we plan to come again.

    Thank you for everything.

  22. My boyfriend and I visited this magical place in August and stayed for two nights at the lovely little cottage. We were so excited about visiting and were greeted on arrival by Tony’s friendly dogs. We took a quick walk around the site to see the wolves in their habitat, but we wanted to save up our excitement for the tour that Tony was to give us the next day. We settled into the cosy cottage and relaxed with the wolves howling in the background. It was such a magical feeling and it was fun to see the other wildlife living around the cottages and buildings including the swallows and bats. Tony gave us a great tour and we got to feed some of the wolves and even stroke sweet old Maddie one of the eldest wolves. I would highly recommend visiting and you will have the best time immersing yourself in nature and enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside.

  23. We booked our stay as a surprise for our wolf mad daughter as a treat for finishing her GCSE’s. We knew we were in for a special experience when we caught a glimpse of Anja running in her enclosure as we drove down the drive. After making friends with Tony and Helen’s dogs, we wandered up to the lookout. We hadn’t expected to see any wolves and we were so busy watching the birds and the deer that we nearly missed Maddah. Then the howling began… If that had been the extent of our experience we would have been happy. However, the following day we had the experience of a lifetime when Tony took us on a tour. To say that it was awesome is an understatement. It was an experience that will stay with us forever and we feel extremely privileged. Thank you Tony and Helen for making us feel so welcome.

  24. Absolutely amazing weekend just spent at the cottage. Pitch black, the sound of Wolves, owls and the river- brilliant! The cottage was well equipped and lovely and cosy. The views, walks and overall experience was something my husband and I will never forget. Tony is so knowledgeable and there is no such thing as a ‘daft question! when talking to him. Would book again as it’s such a memorable experience.

  25. We had a really magical time during our short stay at Wolf Watch UK. The Location, Wolves and Cottage are all second to none. Tony’s passion for the project is to be much admired. He gave us the opportunity to meet the wolves and herd of red deer and we have come away with some amazing photos and treasured memories. The cottage is a perfect retreat where you can loose yourselves and just enjoy the outstanding surroundings. Listening to the wolves howling topped it all off. We cant wait to come back ! A big thank you to Tony and the pack for allowing us to share their world for a weekend we feel very privileged.

  26. Booked the cottage for 3 nights for my husband’s birthday. It was comfortable and cosy in a great location. Loved Eva’s pictures which were displayed throughout the cottage.
What a special experience it was to walk with a wolf and to share Callow’s enclosure whilst 2 wolves played.
Thank you Tony for sharing so much information with us, it brought home how little we actually knew.

  27. We decided to book a weekend away
Two special nights at wolf watch uk
And now we’re home I feel so sad
But what a great time we both had
Loved the cottage away from it all
Day and night the wolves would call
Tony took us too meet the pack
And now I dream of coming back
So Tony and Eva we’ll see you soon
We’re coming back again in June
You live my dream and it’s great to see
Thanks for the memories and a great cuppa tea

    Thankyou Sue and bob

  28. What a great couple of days – many thanks to Tony for the enjoyment he gave us and many thanks to the family of wolves for happy memories that will stay with us forever. The wolves calling before they settled for the evening was magical, listening to the owls in the late evening and the early morning bird chorus was just sublime. Thank you as well to Helen for working hard on our behalf answering my stupid questions!

  29. Thankyou to tony and eva for a great stay at the cottage and the magical experience of seeing the wolves in a natural enviroment the respect that the wolves have for tony and tony for them such a stunning place to be bernadette and terry dance

  30. My mother and I have returned from a two night stay at the cottage. We cannot express how marvelous our visit was to wolf watch. It was our first visit but it will definitely not be our last. The cottage was cosy, clean and comfortable nestled amongst a beautiful landscape. Our first sighting of a wolf was Anja. Tony allowed us to get close to her and touch her. I did so with tears in my eyes, it was a very special moment. Tony took us on a tour and we had a very close encounter with Callow and Tilly who I fell in love with. Nothing had prepared us for this and we can’t wait to return. We have nothing but enormous respect for these magnificent animals and for Tony and Eva. We went to bed listening to the mournful howls of the wolves and woke up with the same sound. Thank you so very much for a truly memorable two days and for what you are doing. We can’t wait to return.

  31. Previous reviews already say it all, but Wow; What a brilliant few days we’ve spent here! This was our first visit, and we’ll be eagerly adding our names to the list of those returning for another stay. We’d been looking forward to coming for ages, and our expectations have only been exceeded.
Following a breath-taking drive to the sanctuary, we received the warmest of welcomes from Eva. She showed us round the lovely, cosy cottage that immediately become ‘home’ for the following two nights, and a second welcome committee of two very friendly canine neighbours was quick to follow!
During our stay, Tony was on hand to answer questions, advise us on some beautiful local walks, and to stock us up with firewood for the evening. He couldn’t have been more helpful, and we both have a lot of respect for the work he’s doing here.
On the wolf walk itself, listening to Tony’s anecdotes and chatting with Helen further solidified the friendly spirit of the whole place. Whilst we were able to hand-feed Callow, it was good to see none of the wolves were forced to put on a show for our benefit. Standing in the enclosure with Rickon & Sansa, and yet having no idea where they were, was a brilliant experience and really confirmed that the wolves come first. It wasn’t until they were happy we’d reached a safe distance that they allowed us to catch a glimpse of them, as they suddenly crept into sight to collect their dinner.

Going back to the cottage – We found it had everything we needed, which meant we were able to spend as much of our down-time there as possible, after a trip into Bishops Castle to stock up on food. Loved all the homely touches, and browsing Eva’s artwork on the walls. Evenings spent listening to the sound of a crackling fire and the howling of wolves in the valley will stay with us forever.

Thank you so much to Eva, Tony, and Helen for an unforgettable experience.
    Your passion shines through.

    -Becky & Danny – Leicestershire.
